Our Experimental Jam will be on this Wednesday, June 8th at 7 pm Saskatoon time. What do I mean by “experimental”? For the summer, I thought it would be fun to throw in the odd jam during the week, especially since people get pretty busy during weekends this might be an opportunity to get more participation. People indicated on the survey that Wednesdays and Thursdays were the next best time so, let’s try it!
But we’re also going to try another experiment for this jam. Instead of Zoom, I want to try a new platform called Syncspace. Not only does it look neat (I love the graphic front door to enter) but in theory, we should be able to play together with almost no lag time. Musicians have been using Syncspace to perform in real-time as well as using it for teaching in real-time so I thought it might be something worth trying. Even if only a few players at a time play together and lead a song, that would be a huge difference in our jams.
