Aloha, uke friends
It’s with great sadness that I announce the end of the Saskatoon Ukulele Players.
We have had an amazing adventure over the past 7 years but unfortunately, I’ve been having great difficulty managing anything to do with this group. We’ve always had our ups and downs together but there have been far too many downs and far too little support. This has left me with constant anxiety when simply thinking about our group. So, I’ve made the decision to take of myself by putting aside this project that means so much to me. I had so many hopes for our group but perhaps, in the words of Blue Rodeo, it’s just bad timing, that’s all.
I will continue to maintain our website, saskatoonukulele.com, at my expense as I often use our songbooks in my music teaching. I would also like to keep our Facebook group going and I hope more of you will post ukulele related stuff there. It’s been amazing to watch so many of you grow as musicians over the past few years and I would love to continue to hear your progress.
In the meantime, we have two (possibly three) more jams left. Our next will be on Sunday, September 10th at 1:30 Saskatoon time. You can join me either on my porch or on Zoom. Once again, I would appreciate an RSVP if you are coming so I know whether to go ahead with the jam or not. For fun, let’s reuse the song package from our July 1st jam which you can download here:
